About the Park

Dutch Wonderland is an amusement park in Lancaster, PA. The park has one wooden coaster, two steel coasters, one of which is inverted. Dutch Wonderland is considered a family-friendly park, due to the fact that most of the rides target kids. Opening in 1963, Dutch Wonderland has constantly been voted as one of the top 5 kid’s amusement park by Amusement Today magazine. Each year, the park get around 400,000 visitors.

Joust

The Joust is the smallest roller coaster at Dutch Wonderland, with just 350 feet of track. The car does go around this white colored track twice, but only has a duration of just under a minute and thirty seconds. This small coaster caps out at just 16 feet, and normally goes about the same in miles per hour, because this ride targets smaller riders. The Joust opened in 1998 and was designed/manufactured by Chance Rides.

Kingdom Coaster

The Kingdom Coaster is a wooden coaster at Dutch Wonderland. It opened in 1992 and was the Sky Princess until 2006 when it was repainted to the coaster that stands today. The Kingdom Coaster is a brightly colored ride, with a height of just 55 feet. The max speed of the Kingdom Coaster is 40 miles per hour, and the wooden track length is approximately 2000 feet. The Sky Princess was built by Custom Coasters International (CCI). This coaster was their first coaster ever to build, which then later it became the Kingdom Coaster.

Merlin’s Mayhem

Merlin’s Mayhem at Dutch Wonderland is a light blue and yellow inverted steel coaster. This coaster has 1,300 feet of yellow track and reaches a maximum height of 60 feet. Merlin’s Mayhem does not have a specific max speed, but it is a family coaster. It was built in 2018, by S&S, which was their first coaster built of this variety.
